Hi all, just wondering if anyone knew a good place to get some new kitchen worktops from?
We have some cheapy IKEA ones which have lasted ok'ish for the last 4 years but they're looking a bit tatty now.
We'd like some nice deep glossy white ones but nothing mega expensive as:
1. we don't have oodles of cash and 2. just want to update the kitchen as we hope to move this year.
We're just refreshing things in the flat to get it looking tip top.
The rest of the kitchen is IKEA and it looks really good (gloss white) it's just the worktops letting it down.

I guess we're looking for some more laminate ones but good quality ones and there seem to be literally hundreds of places online offering worktops.
Don't know where to start!
BTW, I've seen some lovely kitchens belonging to pistonheaders on various other threads..............Some people have great taste in kitchens!

Any pointers appreciated.

I know what you mean regarding the quality of Ikea's worktops, they look good for money but the laminate is paper thin, try and get hold of some Durapal or Getalit worktops. Ps, whichever you do go for, hi gloss scratches very easily regardless of quality

Why not get another one from Ikea if you're planning on moving? IMO go cheap as possible, as it is money you'll leave behind when you move.

Yeah we may well do that, the other half has always wanted something a bit better than what we have so we don't mind paying a bit more to get something much nicer.
Will have to live with it for a little while, have to convince the other half that moving out of London is a good thing!
Will look into Durapal or Getalit stuff.
