Anybody know where to look for rocks?

People keep driving all over our front garden and the wife, who is a keen gardener, has ordered to sort something out.

I fancy the idea of a landmine, but she's worried about the pets.

Failing this I reckon the thing to do is get four or five chunks of planet and place strategically along the border. Haven't got a clue where to go shopping for rocks though. Any ideas?

There was a boulder in occupied Guernsey that could of fitted the bill, alas he went to the Quarry in the sky.

Find out some local stone works companies, or keep an eye open on local building developments that may just let you have what you want if they are doing serious basement digs and the like.

Local quarry is your best bet, take a trailer with some soil in it, they'll load lumps onto it. The soil will save any damage to the trailer, and will make it easier to strap it into place, and will make the boulder stable in transit.

You could always cast some concrete blocks, a bit of imagination with shapes and some dye - could look smart.

Get old logs. In this wind, I'm sure some chunky branches have fallen off trees.

Problem solved. Phoned Bardon Aggregates. I can take my Land Rover to the local quarry, put on a hard hat, boots and a tabard, sign a disclaimer and then take away up to a tonne of rock for £28. Methinks half a tonne will be appearing on ebay with a suitable reserve next week!
