...please smile

Right. Just been recommended a Hansgrohe shower mixer, rather than a Matki jobby i was considering. Hansgrohe say 3bar is ideal and recommended to run with this mixer. My heating/water system is run off a Worcester-Bosche Highflow 400 combi-boiler (approx 10-12 years old).

The combi is located in the utility room downstairs at the front of the property. The bathroom where the mixer is being installed is upstairs at the back of the house.

Just after as many opinions as possible as to whether or not my shower will likely push 3bar?

Currently we are using an old Mira mixer which gives an ample-good flow out of a normal small (handheld) head.

This is one of the Hansgrohe showers i am considering - http://www.hansgrohe.co.uk/uk_en/110450_3231343833...

The other brand was Matki - they state minimum 0.5bar - http://www.matki.co.uk/matki-shower-products/elixi...

You wouldn't believe how hard it is to choose a chuffing shower mixer hehe

Any help greatly appreciated thumbup

Test the pressure coming out of the shower or taps adjacent. The positions of the items is irrelevant. I'd take a look at the recommended flow-rate and test that too..

Have you actually got your paws on either model? Remarkably often, what looks like sexy chrome in a photo is jus a paper-light piece of metallic plastic that goes 'clat' when you tap it.

Funny you should say that. My original choice from the brochure was a Mira shower-mixer... untill i felt the quality in the showroom - chrome plated plastic, like you say. Cheap as chips, and would probably do the job, but so far we have chosen some decent kit for the bathrooms, and penny-pinching on the brassware, is like putting remoulds on a Ferrari smile

The Matki stuff feels pretty solid. The Hansgrohe... even better, but needs good pressure to perform.
