Best lighting for extension/conservatory

Hi All,

We're just doing up our kitchen side extension, which consists of one long wall, a window/door combo at one end and a new glass roof.

I'm trying to work out the best way to light it. There are currently some dodgy 80's uplighters I'd like to replace, but in keping with the new slate grey powdercoated aluminium framed roof, I'd like something a bit more modern that both lights the room and compliments/lights the roof details too.

My first thoughts were the cable suspended low voltage halogen lights, but are they not quite dated now, and is there an LED equivalent of suspended track lighting? I can't seem to find anyone who sells anything like this.

I might get slated for saying this but have a look at Collingwood lighting or Sycamore for similar products at a lesser price.I'm sure there is a fellow pistonheader who will be able to get you what you need.

As above - ask e36guy on here - he does LEDs and all sorts of clever lighting.

There isn't a low volatage wire system for LED. You could use an "LED Bulb" but these are best avoided, especially MR16 low voltage versions. A company in the USA just had to recall 42000 led MR16 bulbs due to fire - probably because of inadequate heat management which I been into in great detail elsewhere in this section.

I would need to see some pictures/plans of the convervatory. You will probably be best to replace the wall lighters with something nicer, perhaps a nice halo about the border of the conservatory and a couple of nice floor lamps?
