I picked up the keys to the new Sneijder towers this evening.

One niggly thing before I start painting, how do I get these feckers out :

Am I right in thinking I should buzz them a bit with a drill, and they'll drop to bits ?

Thanks.

Haven't seen those before - what do they look like before use?

Smash it through and fill as suggested!

That'll be a hollow wall anchor. Uses a gun to fix in place, then a 5mm or 6mm threaded bolt to fix. A fairly decent fixing, used them before for radiator brackets and battening.

To remove, use a countersink bit or a 10mm drill in it, once the face bit falls off, tap the rest back in the cavity.

i too would knock them in and fill etc.

But work out what was there, and what you need in the room, they may be useful!!

If you drill, they spin and masacre the wall. I gently peel that flat circle off and the remainder falls through.

Thanks for the advice chaps. What do you do to peel the circle off ? Go at it with some needle nose pliers ?

There must be 20 of them scattered about.

Put the screw back in a couple of turns and lightly tap the screw in with a hammer until it comes loose, then chop it with a dremel.

If you can lever enough of it away from the wall, using the method above, could you not get a long-nose pliers in and just pull the whole thing out? I did that with two I had to remove from a bathroom wall.

I presuming the wall is brick?? If it's got those hulking great things in it?

I would screw bolts in to them and them use a claw hammer to remove it just like a nail, its worked for me in the past on various different fitting.

For those interested, this is what it'll look like on the rear of the board:

Don't go pulling it straight out if it fully opened as the picture (there will be no way of telling anyway). You'll end up with a huge repair to the wall to deal with.
The original hole will only be about 10mm, so the less damage removing it, the smaller and easier the repair.

Use pliers to twist the head until it snaps, then push the rest into the wall and sand.

Done it now.

Got a screw, put it in a bit, bang bang with a hammer and snap the head off with some pliers. The body falls off inside the wall and just fill the hole.

Job done.
