I'm really glad I'm not posting this in the lounge.....
The back door in our new house is nearly totally glass and we would like to replace it - the question is what sort of price would we be looking at for a new one? Don't want/need anything fancy but a stable style one would be preferred. Also, where is best to get one from?
I know my questions on here probably sound ridiculous but please bear with me, I am only 25!

A helpful local chippy should be able to hang anything like this for £50-75

25 you say? Well, any PHer will be happy to come round and bash them in for you, but if that is not appopriate then I'd suggest you contact a local double-glazing maker (usually lurking on an industrial estate) and ask for a quote. A stable door will be quite a bit more.
Then they will come round and bash them in for you

That's one option - I'm sure many more will appear shortly

They would only be excited till they realised I wasn't the 6ft supermodel that they all date
Thanks for the help- looks like buying one online then finding someone to fit it will be best bet.
God this bloody house ownership stuff is hard- so much stuff to think about and do. Serves me right for buying an old one I guess. There's stuff that I just have no clue about and I'm not even a princess, I'm bloody capable - I can change a tyre for flips sake!

You should be able to get a Upvc double glazed back door for around £500 inc VAT and fitting.
Timber doors will appear cheaper, but by the time you buy the hardware and frame, get a chippy to fit it, and then paint/stain, you will be around the above price anyway.
Upvc will be maintenance free aswell!
