Drainage pumps
Discussion
I had a bright idea of using our garage as a utility room for the washing machine, but have subsequently realised there is no usable drainage near the garage. I thought there was as I could see a downpipe from the roof, but that just goes down to the grass.
The nearest drain is a fair few metres from the garage and is above the level we need it at. If I ran pipes up to the drain and then used a saniflo/aquaflow pump would it work effectively?

Firstly, there will be a pump on the machine. But it may not be strong enough. Maybe do a empty cycle with no soap/powder and see if the water is pumped enough to get to the nearest drain.
If you fit a pump, it'd need to be at the same or lower level as the waste exit. I don't see it being a problem, but you'd need to switch the pump on when the machines goes on and leave it running. Can these pumps stay running without moving anything?

Thats a good point. This is the pump I was looking at, but I think you can only go vertically within 1m of the pump and then it needs to be a downward incline from there.

Thats bloody massive! You don't need anything like that.
You could get a pump with float switch, basically only starts pumping once its submerged. But then you'd need a container for the machine to pump to, then the pump in that to pump out.
Or a flow switch pump, but they are not cheap!
