Anybody recommend Beko?
Discussion
Evening Chums
I`ve got to get myself a new washing machine, ideally an integrated unit and the perfect candidate would appear to be the Beko WMI71441.
Now I`m not a brand snob, but have never had a Beko before and it appears to hail from Turkey which may, or may not be a good thing!
I`ve searched and searched, but cannot find a single review anywhere.
Does anyone have any experience of Beko, and any advice, good or bad?
Thanks in advance
Dave

actually no worse than anything else in the price range, being intergrated it will not be cheap and whats underneath will be a very low end product. Must admit to never seeing the intergrated version but has to be better than the Indes
te/Hotpoint.
Sometimes it comes down to customer service and warranty rather than the quality of the thing.
Having said that, intergrated washers are not a great idea, if you have a choice go for freestanding, save a bit of cash and have a far, far wider range to choose from.

I could go freestanding if something much better for the same money or less came up, but I spent a lot of money a few years ago integrating everything in the kitchen as I thought it looked better. It just feels like a backwards step to go freestanding

Also I`d have to move the integrated dishwasher into the washing machine spot and put a freestanding one at the end as there`s not enough width to get the freestanding one in the middle where it currently is (if that makes sense!)
When I was looking for a washing machine and a tumble dryer for my new house i took a good hard look at the Beko machines and they looked to be pretty well built machines and from some web-hunting they appear to have reasonable spare part prices as well
In the end i went for a Gorenje washing machine and a Gorenje tumble dryer but i did think the Beko's were well built by the looks of it and i would probably buy Beko products in the future, the hotpoints and Indisits (same machines) just felt a bit week and badly put together in that price range
As another poster has said you will pay one heck of a premium for an integrated machine, personally I dislike any integrated appliance and cant wait until i can justify a kitchen re-model to get rid of the integrated oven
might be worth posting this question on www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk and see what they recommend

Agreed; so many kitchens are visually wrecked by what appears to be half a giant Star Wars Startrooper poking out from between the otherwise-neat line of cabinets.

I think Beko machines are manufactured by a Turkish company called Arcelik (yes, really, but with a cedilla under the c). Arcelik branded equipment is everywhere out there, and considered pretty good quality.
They manufacture in China, Romania and Russia as well as Turkey. There is a Beko information video (six and a half minutes) Here for anyone interested in such.
I had an engineer come out to fix a Hotpoint Fridge Freezer recently. He specifically mentioned Beko fridge freezers as being quite unreliable due to the compressors being underpowered (compared to other FFs) and therefore failing sooner. I asked him which he would recommend and he said "Bosch but even there the quality has come down in recent years".
I've got a Beko freezer somewhere and my Sis has a big Beko Fridge Freezer which has been fine AFAIK.
