The builders have poured the base and are on wall construction, is there a typical height a wall plate would be for a double garage. Also is there a minimum you would go.

I know it is "how long is a piece of string"

Flat roof? Pitched roof?

& why query it here when you have "builders" in????

Pitched roof

6m x 4m and I ask here because the builders are in and I'm not near home for three days, they called for guidance.

I'd say about 2300mm

This will allow for the garage door (depending on type) plus the lintel.

2300mm or near enogh depending on course work.

By all means you can go lower but its down to aesthetics too!

Doesn't this - or rather the wall height's influence on the eaves and overall roof height) also depend on whether you're doing it with planning permission (where it's set in writing and drawing) or Permitted Development Rights (where there are fairly strict rules regarding proximity to boundary, etc)?

Should be detailed on the drawings the builder is working from.
