Router - Freud FT3000VCE - good as it sounds and where to bu
Discussion
I'm looking at a new router (please mods, don't move this to IT). I've got an old cheapy which has been useful but I'd like something with better precision and ideally something which can be used in a table easily.
The new Freud FT3000VCE looks good - and has adjustment through the base for table use. And is sensibly priced (or so it seems).
Any of you experts out there care to offer an opinion and suggest where the best place to buy is?
I found it here http://www.toolsandtimber.co.uk/Product-Freud_FT30... at £170.
I know the triton also has through the base adjustment but I've read that it is a bit primitive.
thanks.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I'm after a router as well. I was condidering this one:

Whats the PH opinion on this? The screwfix reviews seem to highly rate it. I've got an Erbauer sliding compound mitre saw and I'm happy with that.

Only the Triton MOF001 has through base adjustment, the larger 2000W TRB/A001 doesn't, but is more powerfull. I have the larger Triton, it is great in a table (except when adjusting) but it is an absolute beast and a nightmare to use in handheld mode. Triton got into a bit of pickle a while ago and almost went bust, all their tools got sold of cheap in B & Q and the like which is when I got mine for £85. They are back now and are selling at around £200!The new Freud FT3000VCE looks good - and has adjustment through the base for table use. And is sensibly priced (or so it seems).

Sounds like my decision is made then. Thanks all.
That erbauer looks identical to my cheapy apart from the handle shape. I'd rate erbauer as OK rather than good - depends on how much/what you use it for. I bought my cheapy to fit a kitchen and cut 40mm solid wood worktops.
I'd not twigged that only the smaller triton was through the table adjustable. I must admit I hadn't fully twigged the price increase either - I was thinking they came in at around £100 and that the one I saw on the shelf in toolstation was just overpriced!
