And before anyone says it - the batteries aren't dying the detectors are mains powered.

So, the only thing I can relate it to is that annoying short beep when the battery powered ones start to go. But as mentioned they're mains powered and it's the smoke detector in the hall which is the one doing the beeping. There are two others further up the house which aren't doing anything.

Suggestions?

Does it have a battery back up for when you have a power cut?

if it's a mains powered smoke detector it'' have a 9v battery back-up......remove the detector from it's base and you'll see the draw...replace battery ..no more bleeps...simples

Oh fk so I have shot myself in the foot - a dying battery after all.
