How does one minimise the sound of a shower pump? It makes a bit of a racket. Is it worth trying to box it up in soundproof material? Or mounting it on the wall rather than the floor? Or both? Any other tried and tested successful solutions? Failing that - it could also be removed!

Grateful for any advice

Try putting electricians rubber grommets under the pump to isolate it from the floor,a lot of the noise may be from vibration.

Put it on foam or similar. But to be honest, some pumps are much louder than others. Reloating it might be an option, or try to noise insulate it or the area's in.

thanks for these observations. looks like experiments with isolation are the answer
