Rats / Mice eating Summerhouse
Discussion
I would say you have a family of mice living under the summerhouse.
(i) Get some poison down for them to eat and take back to the nest, and kill the rest of them.
(ii) Get a hungry cat and lock it in the summerhouse
(iii) Air rifle and paitience, if your a bad shot then shot gun.
(iv) FIRE

I have a large 6m x 12m log cabin at the end of the garden. I was told by the installers that the best prevention is an ultrasonic pest deterrent. It was purchased about 8 years ago when the cabin was built and 'touch wood', so far so good. Also the cabin is about 8 inches from the floor, with the bearers being on a solid bed of concrete. The windows are usually left slightly open for ventilation as the garden is secure.. no rodent problems so far although we are more expecting to find tramps that have found a new home

I've always lived in old houses in the country and trap mice every year (House & Garden shed). They usually apear at the onset of winter and there's a flurry of catching them at the start (sometimes an hourly re-set required of the trap).
I also put poison down.
Within a week or so there's no sign of any mice, the traps remain unsprung & poison left untouched.
I prefer trapping as it is satisfying to catch them as you're having an immediate effect. It's also an excuse to buy snickers bars as peanuts & caramel are a fantastic bait for the trap!
Is it necessarily mice? Could be bumble bees / wasps.
I'd regularly find wasps in my house (in winter / spring when all doors and windows were closed) and wonder how they must have got in.
Two neatly drilled holes in the (suspended) wooden bathroom floor have provided the answer... now I've filled them in.

Bait boxes and some Tomcat2 blocks. I've used these people before www.pestcontroldirect.co.uk and had good service.
