Has anyone come across one of these?

I would like to be able to call up the timer remotely (over the Internet or GSM network) and alter its settings. It needs to be a 7-day programmable timer able to control a domestic boiler.

I am thinking of connecting it in adjacent to the thermostat, so it basically brings the thermostat so it overrides it.

Any pointers appreciated.

Well done that man.

I have had a look and although it appears that a bit of "cobbling together" is needed I suspect I can do something.

I gather that there is an iPhone app to control it all. Which is nice. It means that I can control the heating from anywhere in the world.

So if I'm on a winter sun break and someone at home annoys me I can just turn off the heating for a few hours. Waaaaahhhaaaaahahahahahah [/maniacal evil laugh]

Heatmiser is another, and SensibleHeat (Honeywell Hometronic), and a few others around too - usually wrapped up as part of (but not integral to) whole-home automation systems.

Thanks chaps, this is all good stuff.

One of the things I want to do is control multiple properties. I have yet to get my head round how the user interface would work for that

Just log into different ones.... same way you'd call a different phone number to call a different house...
