Eldest daughter is currently renting a flat in South London. It's one of four in a converted house and she has a two bedroomed unit on the first floor.
When at Uni , she shared a house with four other girlies, who all had numerous baths, did loads of washing etc etc. Total water costs per month were £40.00 for the whole house.
She is now getting bills of £35.00 for just her and her other half per month. They have daily showers, take care not to overfill the kettle when they dont need to, and just use the washing machine twice a week.
She's been in touch with the water company who have said it will be a damn sight cheaper if she has a meter installed. The landlords agent has said that the owner doesn't want one in the flat.
Question is..Does she have a right to have one installed? There is no cost to the owner of the flat.
She thinks she might be paying for the other three flats, all occupied by one person in each.
Any one else from that neck of the woods who could give an idea of what they pay a month?
Many thanks
