Roofing Question

Hi All,we are about to start the process of having a new roof fitted,which at present has tiles,what i would like to know is that as my property is an attatched bungalow and we share the roof is it possible to have my part of the roof done in slate as opposed to tiles ie; is their a method of joining the slate tiles to ordinary tiles,Thanks Bill.

It can be done by using a line of hip/ridge tiles run down the roof over the two different tile types

why would you want it done that way ? - it can be done and a bonding gutter added between the firewall of the loft space, I would advise against it as I think you may cause problems you dont need
