Heating oil tank replacement
Discussion
I discovered a leak from one of the pipes connecting to the tank yesterday. Tried a tighten, but no joy. It's about 30 years old, and could do with replacing. It's a 1300 litre steel rectangular section tank and I'd like a similar sized plastic one fitted, and old one taken away.
Has anyone had this done recently? Could do with an overall cost, so I don't get stitched.
Cheers

Had ours replaced last year - was a 2000l steel tank swapped out for a 2500l bunded plastic one, including some fiddling with the plinth on which it sat. They also drained the dregs of the old tank into barrels and then transferred into the new one. Tank was about £1000ish, and £200 for the work to change it over and take the old one away.
DO shop around for the tanks, there is massive variation in prices.

If tempted to get a slightly smaller tank check what the minimum delivery is from your oil supplier.
A friend replaced his tank last year and the smaller than previous tank now has to be virtually empty before the minimum delivery will fit - meaning he's actually run out twice last winter whilst waiting for new deliveries.
