soffits and gutters
Discussion
Look for rainscreen cladding contractors in the area and ask if they can price it for you. You may get an opportunity to pay a few of their guys cash for a weekend installation using better quality cladding boards.

Do you know anyone in the trade?
The Brother's in law did ours at the weekend - probably just under 20m full replacement, 2 box corners, 1 downpipe (rear was done by neighbors), felt under trays and guttering....£270 using Eurocell product (oh and lots of beer
)
I used Eurocell fascia (golden oak effect) worked out at £8.60 per metre for the fascia, I didn't have any soffit, but it can't be more than the fascia. Assuming you're in white, i'd say £15 will be more than adequate. The Brother's in law did ours at the weekend - probably just under 20m full replacement, 2 box corners, 1 downpipe (rear was done by neighbors), felt under trays and guttering....£270 using Eurocell product (oh and lots of beer

£500 fascia/soffits
£200 for guttering
£40 for end outlets
£40 for down pipes
£30 for brackets
£10 for polys
2 guys, 2 days work
£600 max
£1500 should be doable
Unless they need scaffolding

Hmm...mines's a fairly standard detached house and it took 3 men and a lad 4 days and they had portable scaffolding for a side / end at a time. The gables gave them a bit of trouble as they couldn't separate the cementboard supporting the mortar from the top edge of the bargeboards.A neighbour of mine (who'd not that long ago had a heart attack) did his himself with his missus helping, but he was at it for weeks.

So it's subjective to what's there already I suppose?A neighbour of mine (who'd not that long ago had a heart attack) did his himself with his missus helping, but he was at it for weeks.
I had one guy fit my soffits, fascias and guttering in a day, including a dormer, but I had the scaffolding there already and he only charged £120 for his time (arrived at 8 left at 4) all materials were on site.

Scaffolding can actually add a fair bit of time to the job. With 2 up ladders and 1 on the ground cutting etc, the gable end took 2 1/2 - 3 hours and probably about 4ish hours for each side.
Iffy doing it from ladders these days under the working at height regulations 2005http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg401.pdf
All fine until a fall..........

Fair comment - but this was DIY rather than trade working and I'll be damned if any one tells me how far I can get up a ladder http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg401.pdf

BiL did the apex - I stayed at the eaves
