Has anyone used F&B Exterior Eggshell for exterior windows? Can they recommend it?

Thanks!

I've used F&B Saxon Green on my garage doors and window. Very good stuff. Nice & smooth liquid paint (which I much prefer) with plenty of pigment. The eggshell finish looks a lot more classy than gloss IMO.
I needed 2 coats over white (I was too tight to buy the undercoat though hehe).

Used Vert de Terre on external woodwork.

Like all decorating, it's all in the prep.

Have you checked out Little Greene paints ? They're superb...really high quality stuff.

I don't think you'll get longevity with any of the above paints, IMH professional opinion.

I'd never recommend those paints for exteriors.
My own choice (and indeed used on my own house) would be to use Sikkens exterior paint.

F&B and LGPC have some fantastic colours with real depth (and are quite 'green') but just don't hack it externally.

I have little green paint company water based acrylic on mine and it is total rubbish. I have had to touch them up every year as the paint cracks and flakes to hell. I am having them all repainted next week in an oil based eggshell mixed to the same colour which I have been assured won't give me the same problems.

I have been told it has to be oil or solvent based for windows as apposed to water based - hence the cracking!

The windows already have a Sikkens stain on which is horrible and needs brightening up!

Sikkens don't just make woodstain, you know.

This is by far and away the best stuff to use - and any colour you like wink

I painted my south facing patio doors with it (and the correct primer) nearly 4 years ago and they still look good as new.
Before that they were painted with the next best thing, Dulux Weathershield, that didn't last half as long.

Ours has largely all flaked off and will need redoing within 3 years from having been painted.

I was looking at my 'Paint Colour Card' and against Exterior Eggshell it says NEW so I'm wondering if it is a new formula and less prone to flaking!

Nothing said however online and my paint colour card was only sent to me a few weeks ago!

Any ideas best place to buy Farrow and Ball paints/ primers?

So far, Homebase has best price - £48.49 for 2.5l exterior eggshell and £37.99 for 2.5l of exterior primer and undercoat.
