I'm putting up a porch canopy on the south side of the house.

I need to stain the oak posts to try and harmonise with existing stuff.

Having done a bit of research, I think that Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus is the product I need, as it has a non glossy finish and good UV protection.

Can you recommend an on-line supplier or a better product?

The old canopy was a flat felted roof held up with white painted scaffold poles.
When we bought it, my solicitor said that it looked like "Officers' Married Quarters"!

Now, we've replaced the windows and doors. The new canopy is on 6 X 6 oak posts.

Filter 7 is the best stuff.
You should be able to get it from your local Dulux Decorator centre.

Agree with that Filter 7 best lasts for years. Also try Brewers if there is one in your area or Decorating Direct on line
