URGENT- Lump on the cat's face

As you can see I the picture, hes managed to get a lump with in the last hour, i personally think he has been chasing wasps again and been stung, can we have some opinions ASAP please, he doesn't seem that bothered about it, just keeps licking it.

Hes doest fight really, gets on with all the cats in the area, no blood or marks

I would say abscess but seeing as it has come on so soon a wasp sting could be a better explanation. Personally, I would be heading to the vets to get it checked out, especially if your surgery is open on a Saturday because if it worsens you'll be looking at emergency consultation costs over Sunday and BH Monday. It looks very swollen and with it being on the face I think it's better to be on the safe side.

The vet said the same thing, we have been told just to keep a eye on him as its most likely a sting

Edit- Just found the 'stinger' in his cheek

Does that mean it was a bee sting? I can never quite remember which one it is that does I always have to check!

It is the bee that leaves it tail in and dies, but its very small so im thinking it was a wasp, he's lying in the bed at the moment getting lots of attention off my missus

Has it swollen any more? You would need to check with your vets (or emergency vets) but sometimes cats can be given half a chlorphenarimine 4mg (Piriton) which may be useful to help if he is still very swollen (my cats had Piriton before - for a different problem) but as I said DO NOT give any unless you check with your vet first.

We have done, they just told us to keep a eye on him,

We used to have an Alsatian who would come with lumps all over his chops after being in the garden in wasp season - didn't stop him chasing and eating them, the daft sod.

As lng as it goes down over the next 24hrs, then no problem, otherwise there is a possibility of a facial abscess, usually due to a bite, needs draining and antibiotics. However, finding a bee's sting suggests that it will dissipate overnight.
