We have recently taken in a couple of kittens (Brother and Sister) after our much loved mog was sadly run over.
We have had then for about 6 weeks now and they are about 18wks old.
When we got them we were told they were litter trained and they are but every now and one of them will pee somewhere they shouldn't.
It seems to be anywhere soft, washing basket, their own play tunnels, beds, etc.
Their litter tray is cleaned out regularly and we thought about getting another tray but unfortunatly we are a bit tight for space where the tray is kept.
Does anybody have any ideas how we can sort this out?

it could be that they dont like sharing the same litter tray.

I don't have two cats, but have heard that with two cat's you need to double up on everything especially litter trays to prevent behavioural problems

Fast response!
That sounds reasonable, we might have to re-think tray layout.
Cheers.

you should only need to have 2 temporarily while the kittens are stll kept indoors.

If you plan on giving them free roam at all times of the day when they are old enough, you should be able to cut down on the litter trays (or have none)

We get rid of the litter tray with out kitten very soon after he was comfortable going outdoors.

He is now 3 years old and have had no accidents since and no smelly messy tray to clear up

The general guide is one more tray than number of cats. However this can be awkward esp if space limited. But you really should have two large trays and remove any mess in them daily.

The larger the better too!
