It happens every morning. When my alarm goes off in the morning, she goes nutz trying to get into the bedroom and she has slowly but surely frayed my upstairs carpet. She has done this at all the other doors too

I'm getting a bit miffed as i'm taking flak from my wife about it..

Will a scratching post help?? Or should i resort to spraying the edges with lemon..??

Thanks

1. Leave the door open.
OR
2. Stop using the alarm

Same problem here with our recently rescued cat!!! both livingroom doors are all frayed at the corners! smash

a friend suggested rubbing pepper into the carpet, which I did,the idea when its scratched she will sneeze and not like it! just remember not to hoover that part laugh if your like me you can't anyway for fear of the frayed edges getting pulled and looking worse!!

Also I was told not to open the door when she did it, as she learns that you open it when she does that, but in your circumstance thats probably difficult!! Instead I clapped my hands loud to stop her...

I think its worked.... or she has just stopped doing it by herself...but not rushing out for a new carpet until we are sure!!

We used a sticky tape around the edges where one was at it. Tape was double sided but only tacky on the up side. Worked for a while but then we had the carpets up for a wood floor anyway.
