Quite large for a house spider. That is a large wine glass he is under.

It was casing the place to see if anything was worth nicking. It will have already told its fellow spiders what to take.

Your telly will be gone by the morning.

I found two of those buggers in my house recently!

I throw them out; the exception being Pholcus which freak me out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholcus_phalangioides They are clever bds; they look dopey but go to whack them with a slipper and they dodge and drop faster than you can see, then while you're examining the underneath of the slipper wondering where the body is, they sneak off at ground level...

That's tiny!! Lol.

Seriously though, I have had bigger recently, loads of them!! I've just had my Loft converted into a room/storage area, so the joiners have obviously disturbed a load of the blighters!!

A few years ago my Sister called me, and asked me to nip along to her house and get rid of a Spider for her. She said it was quite big, but naturally, I assumed she was exaggerating. Anyway, she wasn't taking no for an answer, so I told her to put a Glass or Platic Cup or similar over it until I got there, which she said she already had, but the Spider was nudging the glass along the floor!! I laughed out loud, which just upset her more!! Lol. I nipped along, and sure enough, this b*****d was huge! And it was nudging the Glass, well kind of, trying to move it to get free!!

They are fecking massive this year! Something to do with a warm spring I think. To me, when they are big enough that you can actually hear them walking about then they are bloody large! They are sods too, found 2 dead ones and a very much alive one in the bath the other morning where they must have been having a death match, and as my o/h put the winner/survivor out of the window it bit him! Not hugely painful, but made him jump!

I've already evicted 3 of those today. I'm beginning to wonder if they have sort of 'homing instinct' given the huge number I've evicted in the last few weeks.
