Just saw this on the BBC:

Six month old husky puppy has had to have it's leg amputated because of cruelty. He now needs rehomed.

I think there need to be much tougher penalties for cruelty to animals. I cannot help but think that cruelty to (largely) defenceless creatures must be linked in some way to propensity to crime towards people.

I'll go back to complaining that the Daily Mail is not right wing enoughgetmecoat

Correct, there are I believe fairly straightforward correlations between children hurting animals and going on to be sociopaths etc.....

The punishments in no way fit the crime, I'd personally see them flogged to death.

Yep, we'll tie the miscreant to a post, give you a whip and see if you can do what you just typed.

We don't know the details, if it was a result of nastiness or carelessness, then they deserve the wrath of JnJ, why would anyone defend such justice if deserved. However, life is rarely black and white, at the end of the day, lets hope this handsome mutt finds an equally special home. I've done it and maybe been burnt by the response, but road rage on computer isn't great, nor is the eternally pious reply. Watch the dog if you care, cos he does look special, although not as wonderful as the 3 sleeping gutbuckets at my feet.

I've spent an unsuccessful night trying to persuade the other half that we really need another dog, but it seems it's not to be. I'm sure he'll find a home, especially given the national coverage. Good luck if you do decide to give him a home.
