1. Wheelspin? Anyone know? Is it to throw his scent in the air, or to bury the wee / poo he's just done?

2. Dig at places before he wees there?

3. Go up and down the lounge carpet on his neck, propelled by his back legs.

It's a male Lakeland Terrier BTW.

3 sounds like scratching - ours do it occasionally.*

They also like to rub their face after eating...

The kicking thing after wee-ing is interesting - I thought only bhes did that! Maybe just a digging thing? 'Cos he thinks he's a cat, but isn't very good at digging?!

/helpful.

*I do it occasionally, too. Not on my neck, obviously... but my socked foot along a carpet... Mmmm. *wiggles toes*

1 and 2 are trying to dig a hole and bury his poo, but failing.

3 is s sign of worms I thought, as they make their bum-hole itch (a deliberate method to get the eggs distributed on the ground)

I knew someone would mis read that description.

Simpo unless his dog has a bum hole on it's neck, it's not what you're thinking. (Could be fleas though I guess if he's generally itchy)

My two Cairn terriers do all three things too!

Both rub their faces on the carpet, sofa, me, especially after eating.

Both will scratch with their back legs after marking a spot with either 1's or 2's.

No idea why either but it's certainly not unique. Have seen lots of dogs doing the scratching bit after marking a spot. Maybe they are making sure other dogs will see what they've done.

1. Cover the scent of his excrement to discourage getting tracked/noticed by a predator.
2. To attempt to bury his piss for the same reasons as above.
3. To scratch face.

1. Dogs have scent glands in their feet and the wheelspinning is his way of getting it well embedded into that zone.
2. Again this is probably to cover up the scent of another dog which has weed near there.
3. Itchy ears/cheek the other halfs parents cavalier does it.
