My dog has a new game

I took my Weimeraner for a walk about 5pm last night after work, around the local country park. He's not really bothered by fireworks; If it's a bang he'll possibly bark back and will run towards rockets in the distance but shows no real sign of problems with them. I try and get him out before they really get going at this time of year anyway and thought I'd be OK at that time.
So halfway around, we're passing the rear gardens of some houses and there's obviously a bonfire in one of them. A couple of small fireworks go off an he just watches and continues his normal mooching around. Then a big rocket launches and he freezes. It goes pop and he flinches. There's a slight pause and he bolts accross the field. All I can see is his LED collar disapearing (he's quick). So I'm stood there thinking "Ohh st" when the LED's come back into sight and back he trots. He's only brought me the (still smoking) rocket!

That's brilliant!
Our pup has proved herself impervious to the temporary transportation of our nice suburb to the outskirts of Afghanistan, which is nice.
Took them both out for a last walk before it got dark today, except apparently half past 3 in broad daylight is the best time for people to let fireworks off round here; they've been going non-stop ever since. So no luck on our older dog being OK with fireworks yet - jumped out of his skin on that walk, and turned round and tried to bolt for home. He's been on edge ever since. Only an hour or so to go.
