So, it's been a grand total of 5 days and the engagement ring has gone... via one of my cats:

Missus was taking a shower this morning, put the ring on the counter next to the shower, cat jumps up to sit in his usual spot (next to ring...) and promptly dissapears with his new plaything.

Luckily these guys are indoor cats as they're still young and we're not absolutely certain he's swallowed it but it means an interesting evening ahead for Mr Holland and future Mrs Holland.

Picture of culprit:

Doubtful swallowed it, or it'd have made an appearance in either a sick cat or a nice surprise in the litter tray by now. Mine play with all sorts from sweet wrappers to tyre dust caps and haven't eaten them. More likely they've hidden it somewhere or it's fallen down the back of a radiator

ETa, sorry - misread the timeline, thought the cat had possibly eaten it 5 days ago. Vets might be worth thinking of about now

He looks so guilty.

Can you get a metal detector?
Having soldered many an audio connection over the years I know just how difficult it can be to find a metal object that was dropped "Just there".

Your missus ring is probably a bit big of a meal for a wee cat.

Its probably hidden it somewhere.

Laugh Out Loud. I do love PH sometimes... no actually all of the time.

Anyway, off home to search for my fiance's ring (the one made of gold)

Is gold magnetic? If so, just get a big magnet and try to lift the cat with it.

We thought ours had done that years ago with one of my gold finger adornements, only to discover it dropped in a basket in the pantry.

However, not long after the thing vanished, we had some friends over from Cliosport for a BBQ, and mrs smurf announced loudly to everyone

"the cat ate grouchy's ring"

Cue a bunch of people falling about laughing, and mrs smurf not understanding the joke
