Introducing cat. Tongue action...?

So because nobody has come forward to collect scraggy (stray we've been caring for), and it's cold out we are taking him in to the house.

It's not totally possibly to keep Alan (resident overlord cat), separate from Scraggy to do a gentle introduction. So when they do come face to face, Alan is obviously a bit peeved. Backs off, stands on something high. But mostly sticks his tongue out! Not really in a licking face way. More as if to groom, but a good few feet away from Scraggy and clearly not wanting to be closer. So what does that mean?

(We're trying to keep scraggy in the kitchen and leave Alan with the rest of the house for a while, but meetings happen)

Not seen panting. (not specifically looked either). I'll check next time he gets past us.

If his mouth is slightly open he could be scenting - cats have (IIRC) an extra set of olfactory jobbies they can channel air over if something smells serious.

be prepared for your cat to start peeing in the house,he`ll be doing this to let the other cat know that he lives here and to show that he is REALLY stressed and not a happy cat.
go out today and buy a plug in difusser called feliway this will help calm things
