Do you indulge your cat(s)?
Discussion
I do, a bit. My wife is even worse. Yesterday the neighbour's cat came to visit. I invited him into the sitting room and he made straight for my wife's lap. He's inclined to leave his claws protruding a bit, so we managed to interpose a cushion between him and her. So, he settles down and goes to sleep.
Twenty minutes later she needs to get up and do stuff (well actually, she needed to do stuff sooner than that but she was hoping he would get off of his own accord). So I lifted cat and cushion off, she got up and I put the cushion back on her chair. Cat settles down happily. Later, my wife, tasks completed, returns. Chair is now occupied by a comfortable, fast asleep cat, and there isn't really room for both of them so my wife gets a cushion, places it on the floor in front of the chair, and sits on that instead!
So, is she the exception or is there anyone else out there that would do something similar?

oh god yes! lol
Our sofa is a big comfy curved one, and the best place to get comfy is the corner with your feet up, used to be my slouching watching tv spot of an evening.... but one of the cats has claimed it now, and we actually move to let him lay down!!!
and he sprawls out full length too and takes up more sofa than us!!
Other cat sleeps on our bed, everynight she takes herself upstairs and then will not budge, we carefully lift the duvet and shimmie into bed without disturbing her!! and then lay all uncomfortable as not to wake her!!
and now the electric blankets on, there is definately no shifting her!!!
our boy cat is funny as if you do disturb him he looks at you and miaows!! as if to tell us off... and we often apologise!!!!!
another one is when your eating, especially chicken, mine sit and grab my fork with thier paw!! well its too cute not to give them a bit! (bad habit I know!)
oh dear when I write it, I see how bad it looks

my cat learnt fast move or be sat on!
Mine has learnt that too although he does hang on for as long as he can, sometimes I sit there hovering over him with my arse literally on him, he sits there with his eyes open slightly keeping an eye on what I'm doing but eventually he gets the hintMr E said:
I own two sofas and have two cats. It is not uncommon for me to sit on the floor.
Big cats are they?My cat has her favourite chair overlooking the garden (Cat TV), which is fortunately not one I sit on, so we don't usually clash. However sometimes she occupies my office chair; if I want to sit at my desk this then involves a merry-go-round of chairs in which her recumbent chair-bound form is carted aside and a vacant chair brought into play.
