Getting Kittens to poop outside.
Discussion
We have two 8 month old kittens and have had them since they were 12wks old.
They come and go outside as they please but come inside to use their trays, which is annoying as they bloody stink.
They have a tray each and are regularly cleaned but they seem reluctant to do their business outside.
We did try moving the trays towards the back door but one of them pee'd where the tray used to be.
Scattering litter outside to encourage them isn't really ideal as there is a shared green at the back of the house and our garden is quite a bit away from the backdoor.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Cheers.

Great so you don't like the smell of your cats s
t but you want them s
tting outside in the shared space instead. What a lovely neighbour you are.
They'd be an outcry if I let my dog outside to s
t where ever it wanted but because its a cat its apparently acceptable. Why should your neighbours have to put up with your cat s
t in their areas?
My neighbours looked fairly surprised to find cat s
t all over their drive the other day. Should have kept a litter tray shouldnt they. Otherwise neighbours who find they have stinky cat s
t in the flower beds may return it to them.

keep the litter trays as they will need them at night unless you fancy the idea of steeping in a pile of s**t first thing in the morning.

My cats have nearly always had trays available, for about a yr they didn't (for various reasons) and I just took them away, never had a problem. I can see from your post that you have had an issue with a cat weeing where the tray used to be, I've no easy answer to that. Except maybe put soemthing citrus based near the area.
