i have got a black lab coming upto 7 months old now. she is pretty good with regards to chewing things but every toy i have given her she chews up into small bits and swallows some of it which makes her sick.
i have tryed a kong puppy stuffed with food which is ok but she managed to chew that up aswell! whats the strongest toys you know of?

Stag Bars

As indestructible as possible - leaves no mess - apparently good for them.

Our year old pup adores them, and they last for ages.

no such thing as a indestructable toy,
use toys as a item that you and the dog play with together, when you have finished remove the toy out of the dogs reach,
left with the dog they will chew them.

you can advance from the puppy kong to a super tough one. Rope toys (like the sock idea) seem to last a while. Another vote for stag bars.
My dog is a bit funny in that if you don't play with her she does not bother with her toys which means she does not lie around and destroy them. The only thing that seems to damage her toys is when we are playing tug of war type games and something rips.

My dog and the inlaws lab both have a fish toy that has a fairly tough outer skin that neither has been able to damage even with lots of tugs and chewing

Check my profile for a link that might be of interest. The toughest toys that we do are the Zogoflex range, with the Vibram range also being good (although these have recently been discontinued). If you're after a soft toy, the Tuffy range are good, but these are not indestructible.

Kongs are overrated. Both of our Springers have made quick work of them.

I've only got 2 that have passed the Spaniel test - 1 is a multi-pack of General Barker ballistic nylon rope toys which came from Costco are only just starting to show their age after a few months, but they're steadfastly refusing to give up without a fight.

The others are made by Hart's, and are ballistic nylon angry birds frisbees the missus sent over from the US.

I think some people may be getting confused about kong toys, not all are Kongs are virtually indestructable,

I am pretty sure the black ones are extra tough, I own staffords, destructive chewing is their business, it would appear! I have never met such a relentless breed when it comes to chewing, you give them a bone they will not stop until is gone, given half a chance. I have a black Kong that you can put treats in, it has marks on it but still a very useable toy and has last 3 months so far, which is like a world record in our house!.

this is the one my staffords have http://www.dog-toy.co.uk/dogproducts/?product=59 I would recommend also they like Nylabone's which last well also.

This.

Kongs vary in density. Puppy ones are very soft indeed, and not surprised the lab wrecked it. Red or black should be fine. Nylabone is a pretty good product, but dogs tire of them I find. I'd like to try these antlers but not seen one for sale in my local shop as yet.

Black or red kongs are more resilient than the blue puppy ones.

...although our staffy managed to go through two of the medium size black ones... now he's got the daddy-size black kong which is about as big as his head, but is lasting well.

It's even lasting with our english bull terrier pup - if you think staffs have powerful jaws, come meet Ella! Chews anything small enough to get into her mouth, as well as everything bigger.

Right now, she's tuckered out and half asleep, but is mindlessly chomping on a "indestructible" rubber ring toy, surrounded by little bits of black rubber. rolleyes

Keep meaning to try the stag antler that people on here recommend!

Also, the bigger nylabones are quite good... they last about a month with Ella, which is good going.

You might think that miniature Dachshunds would not need tough toys!

Ours have destroyed every toy they have had apart from the Tuffy Toys.

http://www.k9active.co.uk/T-Rex-dog-toy-by-Tuffy-s... if you look at the manufacturers website you will see that the toys are graded.

They are not indestructable but they are the best we have found so far. Still we never leave them with a toy unattended.

We sell most of the Tuffy range too - link is in my profile. They are very good as soft toys go - not totally indestructible, especially if you allow your dog to chew on them, but better than most.

Link to the stag bars: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0058NVKTE

I'm not connected in any way, just a happy customer (or more accurately, our year old black lab is a very happy customer).
