so the dachund can get on the sofa in the conservatory.
If it wants up -it'll do it - my 10+ year old Cairn surprised us to day - he on't like being lifted into boot when we have grandson , so today he jumped in ( and he's a bit over weight ,and although a big Cairn , not a big dog in the doggy world )- the boot stands over twice his height . (BTW -he's also a well spoiled ex rescue dog) .He's used to back seat except when grandson is on board as he jumps about on rear seat and now knows that his place with grandson in car is boot . so the dachund can get on the sofa in the conservatory.
Sounds like you got caught like me, OP. I went along to my local pound looking for a greyhound as I was missing my old one that had pegged it some months previously. They had one, a lovely black and white female, so I took her for a walk and she was fine. So I said I was interested but that my wife ought to see her before I said yes. Returning a couple of days later with 'er indoors the kennel had just had a gorgeous smooth-coated saluki in, found wandering the streets of Grimsby having just been kicked out of a home as she was in relatively good condition. The swines had put her in the next kennel to the grey, even though that had meant shifting other dogs around. On seeing the saluki's huge, petrified eyes, the wife said we can't leave her so we'll have to take her as well. I put my foot down, saying four dogs was one too many so of course we now have four dogs.
Trouble is, I'm now getting twitchy whenever I see a whippet available for rescue as I miss my old whippet I lost to Cushings a few years ago. Is five too many?
