outdoor house for the cats?
Discussion
I'm about to buy this http://www.outdoortoysdirect.co.uk/Wooden-Playhous...
Dual purpose for the cats to climb on and go in all year round and it gives me a little extra storage inside it and I can use the under space for other kit too.
What do you cat owners think? I have seen some ebay cat houses painted and pre built and they are nearly £200 or more once delivered for something the size of small coffee table!
Is this a great find and idea or crazy?

We have our 2 cats in a 'playhouse'. Our first cat had a bad accident about 6 or so years ago and had memory loss - he couldn't remember where we lived. After he got lost for the 3rd time, we didn't let him out and built a 'cattery' type cage. That then morphed into a B&C garden store shed with a shelf and wire cage tall enough for us to stand in, and it has now morphed again into an old playhouse (again with added shelf) and an outside area with plastic roof for shelter and shelves for them to jump around on.
When we got our 2nd cat as a friend for the first, we chose not to let him out (of the cage) as it would not be fair to the other. They both get to stroll around the garden on a leash and are both back inside our house in cold weather and at night. They are only out when we are around as well in case of 'light fingers'.
Not the best photo, but it gives you the idea.

Might as well give you a view of our punk cat as well (one eye and 2 staples - long since removed - the staples not the eye!)

Oscar was hit by a car in a 50mph zone - driver didn't stop, young lad following did, as did the lady behind him. Lad said he was a gonna but the lady (dog owner) said no, he's still alive, so she took him (on her husbands newly dry cleaned jacket) to the vets. They scanned him (chipped) and got our details and called us to let us know. 5 weeks later he came home after having lost an eye, his jaw was smashed to pieces - they couldn't wire it as there was nothing solid to wire it to. He had to have a few teeth out so his mouth could close. His whole jaw was (and still is) out of alignment and his skull was pushed back at the front (top).
His nasal passages were also smashed and as a result he got an infection so had to be drilled through his skull to try and flush out the muck in there, hence the staples from where the tube was inserted. He also later had his jaw wired shut and so had to be fed through a tube directly into his stomach.
All in all he's been through the wars. He now has a persistent runny nose which will often get blocked and sometimes when eating his jaw goes out of alignment and you can see him 'nudging' it back in with his paw.
A few gratuitous pictures!
