Mad old catwomanry has been wagging its bony finger for some time now, however I've finally given in. Moreover, after 3 years of pleading, my landlord has finally agreed that I can have a cat!

Here he is: Bob.

He's the sweetest little thing, and was put up for re-homing because his owner acquired a new kitten which he didn't get on with.

Apparently he was a 'much loved cat', however reading between the lines I wonder whether he'd become an inconvenient expense to his former owner. His teeth needed sorting out, for one thing.

However, their loss. Here, Bob will have the best home any cat could wish for: no busy roads, no other cats, 9 acres of land to roam around in (or not if he doesn't want to), log fires, a cosy bed and home-cooked food every night.

Only two more sleeps until I can collect him - I'm so excited! bounce

To be honest with that description of the new home I'm tempted to dress up as a cat and try for adoption!

Bob looks great!

Well done, he seems lovely. And it's nice when people adopt an older cat (we've done it a couple of times now) as many people just want a kitten.

Nice work.

Unbelievable how many (even intelligent) people thoughtlessly bring in new cats, dogs, kittens, giraffes etc thinking the incumbent cat will just give them a big hug...

He looks lovely, if he was the much loved family pet why the hell did they get rid of him rather than the kitten???

Glad he's found such a lovely sounding place and owner now. Keep us informed as to how he's settling in smile

I'm so glad my first cat was a rescue. I could never have got rid of her when I got the kitten too. Bob will be much better off with you.

He looks nice, but I always thought that you never adopted a cat. I was always told that they adopted YOU.

It happens more often than you'd expect. I'm always saddened to see an older pet has been moved on because it didn't get on with the new arrival frown

Lovely looking cat who can definitely stick two toes up at his old owners smile

What a gorgeous black boy. The lady at Caterham is lovely, and is on the lookout for a suitable addition to my feline family for me.

Enjoy. Both of ours came as kittens from the RSPCA although one year apart. We were a little nervous about introduction but a year on they are fine!

UPDATE

Bob appears to be settling in well. I was a bit concerned about bringing him home in a noisy, bumpy car, but it was no problem at all.

Eating well (he snarfed his Hill's t/d biscuits as though he hadn't eaten for days):

Sleeping it off:

All in, one happy little camper smile

Hasn't taken him long to take the couch as his own! Be aware that wherever is 'your seat' won't be for much longer!

Glad he's settled in - looks like he's quite spoilt already!

He loves it. My house is chilly, however Bob knows a good thing when he sees it smile
