just seen a red kite kill a crow...
Discussion
driving through Welham green i stopped to watch a pair of crows hounding a red kit (not unusual)
however as I watched the kite obviously decided it had just had enough, turned sharply and caught the crows wing with a claw and simply tore about half of it off. cue crow dropping like a stone and the other fleeing. never seen anything like it...anyone else?

I've seen black backed gulls take out a small bird for food. Not un common . In the north fishing ports, it was common for fishermen to trap a black back gull to sit on deck to fend off gull attempts to get at the catch being of loaded . The gull was usually treated to a feed,as fishermen are very superstitious about harming animals and gulls, believing them to be connected with past lives .

Not a kite, but I've seen buzzards turning on crows a few times, yes (plenty of both where I live, so they come into conflict quite a bit).

now that would be bloody impressive to see - especially if it carried it off afterwards!
