cats and snakes

Last year my boy cat Ryu started bringing back lizards. Earlier this year he found new victims in field mice. In the warm early Spring his new friends seem to be snakes! Two of them today about a 12 to 18 inches long. I have no idea where this is all coming from as we aren't exactly in the middle of a field or brush.
