Any pest controllers about?
So we're moving house at the moment, one rental property to another.
The one we're moving into was home to two of the most neglected cats, that the previous tenants simply left behind mad I'm not terribly fond of cats, but that makes me fking angry. (local CPL lady has them now, so they'll be wormed, deflea-ed sorted out and rehomed, we can't keep them, we have a lurcher. Case of three pets enter, on pet leave..)
The removal of the cats woke up all the fleas who then attacked the poor girl who went to do the inventory on Wednesday, so on Thursday afternoon the agents got it professionally sprayed.
When the agents went in after the recommended 24 hrs to ensure a good kill, the carpets were still wet, much better today but still slightly damp if you look at the soles of your shoes. (i'm not touching the carpets to test!) Luckily we've got till the 14th to be out of the current place, so we haven't allowed our three yr old daughter in yet, and we'll sleep here till the last minute and get it well aired out (fans are going as we speak) Probably over the top but I'm a bit OCD with chemicals.

Anyway I've digressed a bit. I'm not sure what it was sprayed with, but would guess at permethrin since most of the OP compounds are banned these days.
Permethrin being _relatively_ innocuous to us, but I do know it is lethal to fish.
We have one goldfish we won for my daughter (who named him 'Mr Fish')at the fair back in September, and given he has survived this far from such humble origins it would be a shame to take him to certain death.
11 days should be enough shouldn't it?

As long as the house is properly aired beforehand and vacuumed a couple times (esp in the area the fish will be) that should be long enough.

Cool, thanks.
Its being vaccuumed the first time tomorrow.

We won't have any problems with woodlice for a while, theres hundred of the poor little buggers all over the place! Bit of collateral damage.

You're wise to be cautious of insecticides; of all the pesticides, they are generally the most hazardous (insects being more closely related to us than fungi or plants).

For crying out loud...

If the goldfish croaks, slip it down the loo and get another...
