My dog (Vizsla) at this time of year seems to enjoy munching on long steams of grass. Is this a common thing? Obviously little nutrients in it so I'm guessing they just like the taste or texture?
Problem is it doesn't digest and therefore doesn't easily come out the other end at Number 2 time leaving him uncomfortably dragging his bum along the ground until I clear the mess. Nice

It's not reflective of needing worming.
My dogs will both stand and graze the grass this time of year. The simple answer (IMO) is that they like it as it's fresh and tasty this time of year. I see them go mad for it every year about this time.

Ours do this. Feels faintly ridiculous to let them out into the garden, only to stand watching them graze like cows, moving on a couple of feet every few minutes. My dogs will both stand and graze the grass this time of year. They do seem to love it though.
My favourite is when a particularly recalcitrant blade causes them to cough/retch it back up, then they pick it up and have another bash at it.

Dogs are not just carnivores. They will eat grass for food and for medicinal purposes. Yes they will graze
like cows on the fresh shoots, also they will find that special grass that a few minutes after eating they
will start that whole body heave until they bring everything up. The funny thing is if it tasted good the
first time they ate it, they will clean up the barf for you.

OP, no, you're not the only who occasionally has to "assist" at the other end...
Also have to do it with hairs. :ew:
Yep, pulling long grass shoots out of my Max's (40KG) arse is something I always enjoy (not!) lol. What does make me laugh is that he is Sooo happy once it's been removed, he jumps about with joy. I just pray I don't have to deal with it in a busy public space! Trouble is, he always wants to sit down which is not conducive to pulling grass from his ass. Hey, a little rhyme there Also have to do it with hairs. :ew:
