The other night i was feeling a bit under the weather so took myself to bed early,my 7yr old labrador
decided to lay down next to me but all she did was quietly look at me.
The reason why this is weird is anyone who has a labrador will know that they are mental and are still puppies and act like one(mine has an offshore wind farm where her tail is),she seemed to sense that it was'nt pillow fight time and just stayed still as if she was my guardian.
I wonder if any other dog owners have noticed this?

Ours definitely have the "sixth sense" (bah-humbugists put it down to minute physiological changes and muscle reflexes that we are unaware of but the dog picks up on, or something like that)...

However, one is a bit special, so tries to cheer you up with the typical english bull terrier cuddle (paws on shoulders and heads together), but inevitably ends up ttting you in the head with her own massive club head.

Dogs ain't stupid it's us owners who are. It's been mentioned above they pick up on the smallest thing which gives us away.

My Newfoundland would alter the way he played depending on who he was playing with. Rough with me and tender with my daughter. Even if she pushed him around he knew she was far weaker then I.

I think it has something to do with "not what you say " but "how you say it" ,when my dog is naughty and i tell her off in a normal voice she just wags her tail and grins at me but if i lower my tone and
act serious her ears go back and she looks sheepish. after a right good telling off.

We had a dog that could tell the time, I would always get the same bus home every day and according to my mum 5 mins before the bus went past the dog would stand by the front door and wait.

As for the telling off, I could wave my fist under her nose and use the most intimidating voice possible but she knew she had been behaving so would just wag her tail and try to slobber me biglaugh
