Hi:
Please excuse this as my first post.
I've been asked by a family member to invest in a new business which will supply reptile themed merchandise, tanks and tank accessories.
So open to the PH massive, does anyone have any experience with reptiles and this market?

yep - i buy lots online all the time and frankly is mostly done badly....i vageuly considered doing the same because there seems to be such an obvious gap

these guys, however, are GREAT: www.reptilecentre.com

what are they considering doing that makes it worth investing in - whats different?

http://www.surreypetsupplies.co.uk/ these guys are huge.

The trick is to be competitive. There's a massive 2nd hand market for equipment as reptiles grow and people upgrade their kit.

www.reptileforums.co.uk is worth a poke around, read/ask opinions etc.

its definitely a growing market...if you get tied into some of the forums - particularly the one blueheron mentioned you could do pretty well IMO.....
other thing would be to look at some of the other 'random pets' which seem to be also on the increase - pygmy hedgehogs, hairless guineapigs etc....
