http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-bellied_Sea_Eag...

This is Junior, and i guess he must have reached the Eagle equivalent of Teenager, because he is downright grumpy, bloody noisy and seems to be permanently hungry!!

They used to nest in an old tree that had to be cut down before it came down on it's own and it seems that this year the Eagles have chosen the big old Chengal tree in the bottom of my garden! Seen the nest being built over the past few months but its just over the past few days that Junior has found his voice and made his presence felt!

Will see if i can get some pictures of Mum and Dad flying in later, they are quite impressive, huge wingspans!!

Will dig the tripod out next time - they do nest at the highest point of the highest tree that they can find and i doubt my photographic skills will get anything published in Nat Geo! hehe

Very cool indeed. Where do you live to have these in your garden?

Mr XJS is in Singapore.

Wish I had eagles in my garden, make a change from the two fat waddling bloody pigeons I seem to always have.

Not a case of 'My cats keeps catching birds' but 'These birds keep catching my cats'!

Nowhere near as cool as eagles but here in Gloucestershire we seem to be knee deep in buzzards. You can hear them calling and see them riding the thermals over the fields. At the bottom of our field there's a stream with a mature treeline that runs alongside for miles and the buzzards and owls live there. I was down there last year and saw something move and looked up to see a Small Owl sitting on a branch watching me.

indeed, the food chain has a slightly different order out here, with birds and lizards being a bit further up it than in the UK!

Keeps my two Border Collies on their toes (paws?!) as it were! hehe

Screech is still .... screeching!!! noisy bugger!

It's a bit grey and soggy at the moment so not conducive to picture taking, but will snap a few more pictures this afternoon.

Changi lah, we have our own weather, only place on the island that is wet at the moment ..... Still f'kin hot though!

Name - Screech seems to be sticking! For mum and dad, there are quite a few parents out over the water so hard to identify who owns who!

Hmm- like something an old mate said when we visited a Zoo and saw Eagle Owls- "that'd sort out that cat that keeps digging up the garden ".
