noooooo I've had well dozens and only one was ever a biter, and thats because she was blind and freaked out when you went near her, but we learned how to handle her.

rats are the best rodent ever! i often do the housework with one sat on my shoulder laugh they just love the attention and interaction.

I don't think I could handle them when they are that small! Aren't you scared they'll break?!

absolutely fine, they have no issues at all with you handling them if they trust you they trust you with thier babies and my smell on them makes no difference to them etc, unlike some animals its perfectly fine to do with ratties smile

Bluebell's such a pretty girl, Ralfie has gone darker... and now very snuffly... starting to get worried about our old boy frown

Oh while we're on rats, anyone worked out a none stressful way of clipping nails, all of ours have been very unhappy when it's foot grooming time, only ever take off the tiniest bit at the very end just to remove the worst of the scratching.

From my girlfriend-
Shouldn't really be clipping a Rats nails, however if your insistent on doing it then get a brick and wrap sandpaper around it and place it under the water bottle so they have to walk and scratch when they are drinking water.

the babies are getting a bit of fluff on them now, they feel all soft and velvety, and turning more grey/blue than the black they first appeared to be, but the furr will be in soon and we will soon see!
