Lost Dog (Lurcher)
Discussion
Sadly our dog has been missing for a week and last night we had a sighting several miles away near a campsite. It is a bit of a long shot but if you do see a grey lurcher matching her description near you, or have one offered to you for sale (she is adult and fully fit) please do let us know.

and the poster for her is at https://dl.dropbox.com/u/57855849/Teasel%20poster....

The sighting was on the Oxfordshire Way near Shipton Under Wychwood. We blanketed the village where the sighting was with posters and followed up with the campsite.
Separately we have alerted all the local vets, pubs, dog wardens, etc in the hope that she turns up somewhere. She disappeared in the middle of a usual dog walk in an area where there are lots of other dogs. Everyone has been looking for her and there has been no sight/sign.

Really sorry to hear she is missing.
Register her on doglost - it's a national community but also with local sub-groups.
Is she microchipped? If so, have you informed the microchip company she is missing?
No matter what their usual temperament is, dogs can just lay low if they go missing so when searching for her be sure to check under bushes, shrubs, etc etc. I know someone who found her two missing dogs hiding under a tree, they didn't come when called so well worth looking properly.
Has she gone missing from a familiar place? Dogs can often find their own way home, but I'd wager this is pretty unlikely after a week has passed but definitely worth still considering.
When my cats have been missing I've handed out/ put through letterboxes posters and leaflets to anyone and everyone I could think of because you never know how far they have strayed. Really hope she turns up safe and sound.

Thank you for the support. She is on Doglost http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog_blog.php?dogId=41561 and they have been absolutely brilliant. A real source of high quality advice and support at this quite difficult time.
I've posted this to a Lurcher Facebook group I'm in. http://www.facebook.com/groups/207791049343154/
They are a very widespread 'in the know' community, so hopefully word will spread. Every little helps.
As a fellow lurcher owner I really hope you find her ASAP.
