Jess had skin issues since April last year and was diagnosed with mange in October. With a series of chemical baths she was clear by Xmas.
Fast forward to Easter this year and she had cracked skin and infection on her cheeks which wasn't diagnosed as mange but has been on and off anti biotics since then (until last Monday) - other than her cheeks being a little dry they are fine but in the last week she has developed localised scabs on her back pretty close to where they appeared the first time.
Is this related to the skin issue on her face, has this occurred because she was on steroids for too long due to her skin issue on her cheeks or purely because her immune system was low?
She is gsd cross so we've been told she can have inherent skin problems but what I want to know is, is there anything I can do or cream/shampoo/pesticide I can wash her in to help her?
Her next appointment isn't until a week on Monday but because I'm pretty certain it's demodex again I'll be taking her in the next few days.
She's only 2 1/2 but spent almost 18 months with one skin issue or another and is a stressed dog anyway so I want to try my best to limit her stress.

frown poor Jess

I have no idea, sorry, but I do know that marmite & flora/olivio sandwiches help Foxes that have mange, it boots the oil & Vit B6.

May be worth some research?

I will of course be ridiculed but in your shoes I would be looking at switching her to a raw diet which would hopefully assist with her skin problems.

if demodex is confirmed, ask your vet about ivomec injection, not licensed here but in US, licensed at 1ml/50kg sub cut, can be repeated weekly if necessary. I would doubt they have the experience or confidence to use this drug, but it is safe at this dose, and does work. However, it may not be demodex, so that needs to be ascertained first.
