Simple question as I'm a complete noob with all things horsey but what would one expect to pay for DIY livery for a horse? If it's relevant, it would be in the Surrey Hills area with direct access to pasture & woodland for hacking.

Please excuse any incorrect terminology I may have used!

It would depend what other facilities they provide such as turnout or even a sand school. My wife used to pay £20+ per week per horse but that's at least 13 years ago.

We charge £22 per week stable rent only (no forage/bedding) in the North East with use of indoor arena and we are cheap. I would expect to pay £50 or so at least down south.

I would ask on Horse and Hound if I were you.

It's £30-£50 around Derbyshire depending on how nice the place is etc.

I'm in the Surrey Hills and around here, full livery is £150 a week. That's in a good yard, with indoor riding facilities, plus NT-owned land for hacking on the doorstep.

From that, deduct an hour a day at £10 per hour staff time for feeding / mucking out / general attention, and I reckon you're still looking at £80 a week for DIY.

£25-45 per week stable + facilities (no livery/turnout) in South Bucks, according to SWMBO.

Thanks all. We don't have a sand school or indoor facilities, so I suspect we'd be at the lower end of the ranges mentioned, maybe around £30-£35 per week.

Much appreciated, thanks.
