Our friend has a cat and dog. The dog would chase the mice around whilst the cat would watch. They even had a day when the mouse ran directly over the cat's paws, the cat just watched it go............

That's a field mouse isn't it? It's a shame to kill thouse, but if they come in the house..

You cat tell a cat to chase a mouse like you can tell a dog to chase a rabbit, they just look at you as if to say "what?"

The OP's cat is rather magnificent.

The OP's cat doesn't look like chasing mice is top of his 'to do' list!

hehe

(one of our little darlings is currently majoring on insects/spiders - she's only young... god help us when she graduates to four legged prey!)

I think it was yeah. Given how tiny it was I was surprised it was unhurt. She'd dropped it and picked it up a few times before I rescued it.

OP I expect your Lord and Master brought this offering into the house to give you the opportunity of honing and demonstrating your hunting skills.
No doubt there is a discussion on the cat equivalent of the www as to your woeful inadequacy in this departmentlaughlaugh

The OP's cat looks more cross-eyed than Columbo...

But as Garfield said, 'Show me a good mouser and I'll show you a cat with bad breath'.

My cat has only brought in two mice in 8 years. One she let go in the kitchen; it ran under the units and ate its way out through the washing machine hose - causing a flood next time I used it. Thanks, cat.

Ours once brought in a live mouse to play with but it went and hid under the sofa and, apparently died of fright.

Only we didn't know anything about it until the stench in the lounge had us moving furniture to find the source.

Well, rather than leave it to fatty i corenerd the mouse, it fought like a lion, teeth and claws, almost got the better than me, it was like a 2 tonne shark, exhausted i finally saw my chance and he was mine, trapped in a corner, and in the jug i had ready, he knew the game was up looking at the craps he did in the corner....

i delivered him to the field at the back of our place with some stern words

whilst in the jug i showed him to fatty who couldnt have cared less..
