He was trapped laying on his back, waggling his legs in the air, so I rescued him. Then he bit me, took hold with his claws and hissed loudly. I pulled him painfully off my flesh and let him go on one of the orchids and he had disappeared a while later, so I guess he flew away?





He really is a beauty close up.

Not sure what I'd do with him if I did keep him, put him in some sort of cage? Beetlearium? I feed the tiny ones to our turtle, he loves them. biggrin

There are quite a few interesting beetles around, and dragonflies. Some in the most amazing electric green or red colours. I ought to take more pics actually.

My wife tells me they do fight them locally. The alarming thing was the really loud 'hiss' he made a few times when I was saving him. That did make me jump. hehe

I've accidentally just saved his pic as a wallpaper on my phone!! (genuinely) Looks quite good actually. Just not sure how that happened!
