Does Tortoise Food Still Sell This Time Of The Year?

Hi
im thinking of buying tortoise food in bulk and trying to sell it in my online shop..
do tortoise hibernate this time of year?
Or do you still buy food for them?

Any Help Appreciated...

Young ones don't hibernate in general so need food. some never do. so yes food is needed all year round but some are very fussy eaters.
Gf has four, three 6yrs old 1 we think is about 70 !the old boy was found in her dads orchard 55yrs ago and was twice the size that the 6yr olds are now .
He hibernates but the young uns don't

My tortoise has never been hibernated and many people don't as it is quite dangerous and what with heat lamps and lighting its not necessary.

what sort of food are you on about? 90% of mine comes from Tescos with the weekly shop!

We pick our food for the tortoises for free
But we'll over-winter them again this year, ours are a bit young still to try to hibernate them

My OH's mother has 11 of them (she used to breed them), all hers are currently hibernating in the garage so won't be making a reappearance until next spring. I don't think she buys specific food for them, they roam the garden so feed on the grass and she gives them salad stuff and greens.

Many tortoise owners keep their tortoises awake throughout the winter. Also tropical tortoises don't hibernate at all so there will always be a need for tortoise food throughout the year. If you are talking about tortoise pellets they are not a very satisfactory food. Tortoises should be fed primarily on various weeds.

agree I think I bought the pellets once when I first got my tort but never again, mine live on weeds and veg, I have a patch in my garden where is just for weeds! free food lol

they just eat weeds, and the occasional pellets if you can't find any weeds... I haven't hibernated mine yet, she's only 5/6 .. she is missing a segment of her shell i know.
