I have just received my renewal through for my pet insurance (dog) and it has gone up to £74 a month. Nearly had a heart attack when I saw that. Unfortunately I am unable to go to another provider due to an existing condition. This year, they have paid out over £2500 for tests and medication for his epilepsy which he has just been diagnosed with.
If anyone here has pet insurance and their pet has an ongoing condition, how much do you pay a month? This is not with Pet Plan. I don't know, had I been with them, whether they would have increased their premiums as much or not. I am currently with a provider that provides other insurances and they were well priced for the level of cover I wanted at the time.
I know I can;t do without insurance as it looks liek our Collie will be on medication for the rest of his life and he also has to go in for regular blood tests. It also look like he has started limping slighlty again, so that could be another large expense. Oh why did I get dogs? I was so much better off without them. At least then I did not have the costs or the fact I have to get up early every day for them. They don't seem to know what holidays or weekends are!.
